What is Utopianism?

Utopia comes from two Greek words-topos, meaning place, but the prefix may mean good or nonexistent. So Utopia means both ” the good place” and “nowhere”. It is not scriptural.
Although Utopia as a literary genre did not emerge till Thomas More popularized the form, the philosophy has flourished throughout History. (e.g. tower of Babel).
Four  basic tenants of Utopianism have lured our government away from it’s original Christian foundations.
  1. the existence of God
  2. the nature of man
  3. the function of government
  4. the responsibility of government
Utopianism built the  “wall of separation”  between church and state.
Since the Constitution makes no mention of God or Christianity, it is often assumed that the founding fathers  intended to make a totally secular state; however, the notion of government functioning without a regular basis would  have been completely unacceptable to these men.
Based on an interpretation of the first amendment, the courts have sought not only to avoid the establishment of a national church, but also to disestablish religion. In 1947, the supreme court ruled “Neither a state nor the Federal Government can, openly or secretly, participate in the affairs of any religious organizations or groups and vice-versa.”
(Everson v. Board of Education, 330 U.S. 1, 16 [1947]) .
In a Utopian  society, the gtovernment is put in place of God to make laws. From Scripture, Utopianism is heresy.
Utopianism is to government what heresy is to theology

The will of God are summarized in seven words contained in the following seven questions:

  1. What is God’s design?
  2. What is my responsibility?
  3. Whose authority am I under?
  4. What suffering will be involved?
  5. How is God’s ownership involved?
  6. What freedom will result?
  7. How will true success be seen?

Sorry I have not posted for a while… This is whats been going on…

We celebrated Ellie’s birthday, (she turned 6), and that was last  Saturday. I tried posting some pics. but Guess What! I could not figure it out (like that’s unusual) . I spent like 5 min. uploading pics., and I tried to get them onto my blog, and it messed up. 😦  I do not like word press as much as I do the blogspot system, (I’m going to blame it all on wordpress) because wordpress is so complicated…

Then a couple days after that we went out to the Vincent Farm, (Our Cousins), and spent the afternoon there. It was fun, and I showed Jordan how to add links to the side of her blog (she has a wordpress blog to:)) ….

Then yesterday we had China Star for dinner…

And today we went on two bike rides, and one walk, and had biscuits and gravy with eggs for dinner…

pretty boring…

We are not too sure what disease or sickness he has, but it might be something in his brain, because of what happened last night.  His symptoms  are: he made supper last night , Chicken fried steak, with baked potatoes and brussel sprouts (yum,  he had been reading  Two for the road,  a book by Micheal and Jane Stern, and for those of you who do not know who they are, they go around the country visiting Ma and Pop restaurants, and have written like 25-30 books!)   Then when Sarah got sick, he cleaned her up. AND, rounding it off, he did dishes. (sorry, Dad, we are not laughing at you, we are laughing with you!) I am mean aren’t, I?

We have eight in our family, and so when we get colds, it might go around a few times!  Last night, we were eating, and Sarah was just sitting there, not eating at all! Mom tried to get her to eat her food, but she was not wanting to eat it at all; then Mom asked her if she was done, and she actually pushed her plate away! (for all you guys who know her, your probably shocked!)    Then she threw up all over herself :(, then later Daniel did, too.  Weird thing is, that, their fine now!

001 (213)Tonight at 7:00 we (Me, Olivia, and Elizabeth with Grandpa) will go to her school to hear her sing. Out of all the kids in the middle school choir, they hand~picked 11 kids to sing. And KELSEY was one of them. Last winter, she won 1# place in singing.  And Saturday, she will go to MaComb, I.L. to a STATE WIDE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!  She is an excellent singer, and as Dad says, ” shes got a career ahead  of her!”  Will try to post a video later of her later.  My votes for her ! Best Wishes, Kels!!!!!!!!!!!!!
